* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN CRAWFORD COUNTY IN CENTRAL GEORGIA
  NORTHERN PEACH COUNTY IN CENTRAL GEORGIA

* UNTIL 1100 PM EDT

* AT 959 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER BYRON...OR ABOUT 6 MILES NORTHWEST OF
  CENTERVILLE.  THE STORM IS NEARLY STATIONARY.  THIS AREA RECEIVED 
  HEAVY RAIN FROM A THUNDERSTORM EARLIER THIS EVENING.  AN 
  ADDITIONAL 2 INCHES IS POSSIBLE IN THE BRYON AND FRIENDSHIP AREAS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR EASTERN CRAWFORD AND NORTHERN PEACH 
COUNTIES HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO EXPIRE AT 11:00 PM...

THE HEAVY RAIN HAS WEAKENED AND MOVED OUT OF EASTERN CRAWFORD AND 
NORTHERN PEACH COUNTIES.  LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS IN CRAWFORD AND 
PEACH COUNTIES REPORTED SEVERAL ROADS CLOSED OR IMPASSABLE DUE TO 
FLOODING...MAINLY ALONG THE COMMON BORDER BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTIES.  
THE HEAVIEST RAIN FELL IN EXTREME NORTHERN PEACH COUNTY...IN THE 
VICINITY OF BYRON.  RADAR ESTIMATED OVER SIX INCHES OF RAIN FELL IN 
THAT AREA SINCE 5 P.M.  ALTHOUGH THE RAIN HAS DIMINISHED...ROADWAYS 
AND LOW-LYING AREAS WILL REMAIN FLOODED AND IMPASSABLE IN EASTERN 
CRAWFORD AND NORTHERN PEACH COUNTIES.  MULE CREEK...MOSSY CREEK AND 
OTHER SMALL STREAMS WILL NEED TO BE MONITORED FOR RISING WATER 
THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT.
