THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EL PASO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR SOUTHERN AND
  CENTRAL LUNA COUNTY IN NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 730 PM MDT

* AT 612 PM MDT...WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED HEAVY RAINS OVER   
SOUTHERN LUNA COUNTY ALONG HIGHWAY 9 WEST OF COLUMBUS. THESE STORMS 
WILL CONTINUE MOVING ALONG HIGHWAY 9 DURING THE NEXT HOUR. OTHER 
STORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN WERE MOVING ACROSS HIGHWAY 11 NEAR DEMING. 

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER
LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
