THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EL PASO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  GRANT COUNTY IN NEW MEXICO
  INCLUDING THE CITY OF SILVER CITY
  LUNA COUNTY IN NEW MEXICO
  INCLUDING THE CITY OF DEMING

* UNTIL 530 PM MDT

* AT 319 PM MDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY 
RAIN SCATTERED THROUGHOUT GRANT AND LUNA COUNTIES. NEARLY 2 INCHES 
HAS FALLEN AT THE DEMING AIRPORT DURING THE PAST HOUR WITH REPORTS 
OF SIGNIFICANT STREET FLOODING. A WEATHER SPOTTER IN SILVER CITY 
REPORTED 3 FEET OF WATER RUNNING IN AN ARROYO.

* THE THUNDERSTORMS WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE DROPPING 
LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN IN THESE TWO COUNTIES INTO THE EARLY EVENING.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. 
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. 
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE 
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS 
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY 
AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS, ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK 
HIGHER GROUND.
