THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EL PASO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...NORTHERN SIERRA COUNTY IN
SOUTHWESTERN NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 800 PM MDT

* AT 615 PM MDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR
  INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN NEAR MONTICELLO.
  THESE STORMS SHOWED NO MOVEMENT.  THE COMMUNITIES OF
  MONTICELLO...PLACITAS...AND WINSTON WILL BE AFFECTED. IN
  ADDITION THE ARROYOS AND ALAMOSA CREEK WHICH RUN SOUTHEAST
  TOWARD THE RIO GRANDE WILL RUN. HIGHWAYS AFFECTED WILL BE STATE
  HIGHWAYS 52 AND 142.

IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE TO ESCAPE
FLOOD WATERS.  DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN
WATER BEGINS RISING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE
WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO
ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING
WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
