THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EVANS COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST GEORGIA.

* UNTIL 900 PM EDT.

* AT 737 PM EDT...RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN ACROSS MOST OF  
  EVANS COUNTY. FROM 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE LAST 
  HOUR ACROSS THE COUNTY AND ANOTHER 1 TO 3 INCHES IS POSSIBLE 
  THROUGH 900 PM.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED INCLUDE... BELLVILLE...CLAXTON...DAISY AND
  HAGAN.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE RAPID FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...ROADWAYS AND LOW-LYING FARMLAND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN
AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

RADAR ESTIMATED THAT 2 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN FELL ACROSS EVANS COUNTY 
THIS EVENING.  LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED ONLY MINOR 
FLOODING.

A FEW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE THIS EVENING ACROSS EVANS COUNTY BUT 
HEAVY RAIN IS NO LONGER EXPECTED.
