THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN JIM HOGG COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS
  CENTRAL STARR COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS

* UNTIL 815 PM CDT

* AT 514 PM CDT...THE DOPPLER RADAR IN BROWNSVILLE SHOWED A SEVERE   
  THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER SOUTHERN JIM HOGG       
  COUNTY...MOVING SOUTH INTO ADJACENT HIDALGO COUNTY AT 25 MPH.      
  DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL...AND MORE...WITH   
  THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES EAST OF GUERRA.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH       
  FLOODING ARE COMMUNITIES IN SOUTHERN JIM HOGG AND NORTHERN STARR   
  COUNTIES INCLUDING THE CITIES OF GUERRA AND LA GLORIA.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...NORMALLY DRY WASHES AND 
ARROYOS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.
