THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HALE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA

* UNTIL 1015 PM CDT

* AT 814 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY
  RAIN OVER CENTRAL HALE COUNTY...OR ABOUT 5 MILES NORTH OF    
GREENSBORO...MOVING NORTH AT 25 MPH. RADAR ESTIMATED UP TO 4 INCHES 
OF RAIN IN WESTERN HALE COUNTY OVER THE PAST FEW HOURS. AN 
ADDITIONAL ONE TO INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE. 

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL 
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE 
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

MOST FLASH FLOODING DEATHS ARE AUTOMOBILE RELATED. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO
ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
