THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CENTRAL ULSTER COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK

* UNTIL 430 PM EDT

* AT 126 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY 
RAIN IN CENTRAL ULSTER COUNTY.  A SERIES OF SLOW MOVING 
THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS ULSTER COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON.  
WEATHER SERVICE RADAR ESTIMATES THAT OVER 2 INHCES OF RAIN HAS 
ALREADY FALLEN IN SOME LOCATIONS SOUTHWEST OF THE ASHOKAN RESERVIOR. 

* SOME LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE...MOHONK 
LAKE...OLIVEBRIDGE...PEEKAMOOSE...RIGGSVILLE...SUNDOWN...AND WEST 
SHOKAN

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS

THUNDERSTORMS THAT PRODUCED TORRENTIAL RAIN ACROSS PARTS OF ULSTER 
COUNTY HAVE DIMINISHED...AND THE IMMEDIATE THREAT OF FLOODING HAS 
ENDED FOR THE TIME BEING.  

A FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT AS THERE IS STILL A 
CHANCE ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP.  WITH THE GROUND 
SATURATED...ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL COULD PRODUCE FLOODING.
