THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN BERNALILLO COUNTY IN CENTRAL NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 830 PM MDT

* AT 724 PM MDT...THE PUBLIC REPORTED HEAVY RAIN OVER SANDIA
  HEIGHTS. VERY HEAVY RAIN IS ALSO OCCURING OVER A LARGE PORTION OF 
  THE EASTERN ALBUQUERQUE METRO AREA.

* THE THUNDERSTORM WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL AFFECT...
  AREAS OVER THE ALONG THE SANDIA MOUNTAINS.  THIS INCLUDES AREAS EAST
  OF THE SANDIA MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS THE EASTERN ALBUQUERQUE METRO 
  AREA.

DURING HEAVY RAINS...KEEP CHILDREN AND PETS AWAY FROM ARROYOS AND 
DRAINAGE CHANNELS. NEVER CROSS FAST FLOWING WATER ON FOOT. 
REMEMBER...DITCHES ARE DEADLY. A GENTLE FLOW OF WATER CAN BECOME A 
RAGING TORRENT IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS 
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. 
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

THE HEAVY RAINFALL AND SLOW MOVEMENT OF THESE STORMS MAY RESULT IN 
FLOODING OF SOME ROADS AND LOW-LYING AREAS. BE AWARE OF RAPIDLY 
RISING WATER IN NORMALLY DRY STREAMS...CREEKS...AND ARROYOS.
