THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WEST CENTRAL KANE COUNTY IN UTAH
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF KANAB

* UNTIL 300 PM MDT

* AT 1139 AM MDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE
  AREA OF HEAVY RAIN OVER THE UPPER PORTION OF KANAB CREEK AND ITS  
  TRIBUTARIES.  THE AREA OF HEAVY RAIN WAS NEARLY STATIONARY.

THE WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN IS LIKELY TO CAUSE LARGE RAPID RISES IN 
WATER LEVELS ALONG KANAB CREEK THROUGH MID AFTERNOON.  FLOODING IS 
ALSO LIKELY ALONG ALL OF THE WASHES EMPTYING INTO KANAB CREEK NORTH 
OF HIGHWAY 89. 

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS 
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT 
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS 
THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL 
ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
