THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHEASTERN HOWELL COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI
  OREGON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 1115 PM CDT

* AT 725 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT   
  FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS AND LOW LYING AREAS CONTINUED IN     
  SOUTHEAST HOWELL COUNTY...AND HOWELL CREEK WAS REPORTED TO BE AT   
  BANKFULL.  RADAR ESTIMATES OF 3 TO 6 INCHES OF RAINFALL WERE 
  INDICATED OVER PORTIONS OF EASTERN HOWELL AND OREGON COUNTIES.  
  ALTHOUGH THE RAIN HAD ENDED...EXCESSIVE RUNOFF CONTINUES. 

* FLASH FLOODING WILL OCCUR ALONG HOWELL CREEK AND SURROUNDING 
  STREAMS IN SOUTHEAST HOWELL COUNTY...AND ON THE WARM FORK RIVER IN 
  SOUTHWEST OREGON COUNTY.  FLASH FLOODING WILL ALSO OCCUR ON 
  SOME OF THE TRIBUTARIES INTO THE ELEVEN POINT RIVER OF EASTERN 
  OREGON COUNTY.

  IN ADDITION...RAPID AND SIGNIFICANT RISES WILL BE LIKELY ON THE 
  ELEVEN POINT RIVER.  CAMPERS ALONG THE RIVER SHOULD BE PREPARED TO 
  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON
FOOT.
