THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN LACLEDE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI

* UNTIL 1245 AM CDT

* AT 1044 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED  
  THUNDERSTORMS HAD PRODUCED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL NEAR LEBANON...
  MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED THAT BETWEEN 2
  AND 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAD QUICKLY FALLEN OVER THE WARNED AREA.

* WHILE THUNDERSTORMS HAD MOVED NORTHEAST OF THE WARNED AREA... 
  RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO
  OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING 
  INCLUDE...LEBANON AND INTERSTATE 44 BETWEEN CONWAY AND LEBANON.

AT 1045 PM...LACLEDE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTED THAT FLOODING 
WAS OCCURRING ALONG INTERSTATE 44 NEAR PHILLIPSBURG...HIGHWAY 5 NEAR 
LEBANON...AND CC HIGHWAY NEAR INTERSTATE 44.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE
UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
