THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  BENTON COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI
  MORGAN COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 630 AM CDT

* AT 419 AM CDT...FLOODING WAS REPORTED IN BENTON COUNTY.  THE 
BENTON COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTED THAT HIGHWAY F SOUTH OF COLE CAMP HAD 
FLOODED...AND PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY 65 WAS PONDING OVER BETWEEN WARSAW 
AND LINCOLN.  SINCE 3 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR 
DETECTED GREATER THAN 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN TO THE EAST OF 
WARSAW AND WIDESPREAD AMOUNTS AROUND AN INCH ELSEWHERE IN BENTON 
COUNTY.

* THE SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES 
OF RAIN THROUGH DAY BREAK.  RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL 
CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO OCCUR. RAPID RISES IN CREEKS AND FLOODING OF 
FLOOD PRONE AREAS WILL OCCUR NEAR COLE CAMP...LINCOLN...STOVER... 
VERSAILLES AND WARSAW.

FLOODING OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS AT NIGHT IS ESPECIALLY DEADLY.  
REPORT ALL FLOODING TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FiOR RELAY 
TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
