THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HALIFAX COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 800 PM EDT

* AT 551 PM EDT LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED 
  FLOODING OVER THE WARNED AREA.

NUMEROUS REPORTS OF FLOODED ROADS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AROUND 
SCOTLAND NECK...HOBGOOD...AND PALMYRA. WATER HAS ENTERED HOMES 
IN SCOTLAND NECK. 

DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES THAT 4 TO 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN 
SINCE 3:00 PM...AND ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED.  

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
