CARTER COUNTY IN EAST TENNESSEE * UNTIL 130 PM EDT * AT 1025 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN NEAR HAMPTON AND ROANE MOUNTAIN THE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING THE FLASH FLOOD WAS MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH. * LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE... RURAL CENTRAL CARTER COUNTY AT 1030 AM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR HAS ESTIMATED THAT 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN OVER THE PAST 3 HOURS. AN ADDITIONAL 1 INCH OF RAIN ARE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT 1 HOUR. AT 1020 AM EDT LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED THAT THE LITTLE DOE RIVER AND STONEY CREEK WERE OUT OF THEIR BANKS AND PRODUCING FLOODING ACROSS THE TOWNS OF HAMPTON AND ROANE MOUNTAIN. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE SOME FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF COUNTRY ROADS...FARMLANDS...AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS THAT ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING.
