THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MORRISTOWN HAS CONTINUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...WASHINGTON AND GREENE COUNTIES IN TENNESSEE.

THE NOLICHUCKY RIVER HAS EXCEEDED ITS BANKS IN MANY LOCATIONS.
THIS INCLUDES THE CREEKS THAT FEED INTO THE RIVER. ONLY ISOLATED
SHOWER ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...STRONGER AND 
MORE CONCENTRATED ACTIVITY IS POSSIBLE IN NORTH CAROLINA WHICH WOULD
CAUSE AN INCREASE IN WATER LEVELS IN THE HEADWATERS OF THE 
NOLICHUCKY. 

ANY TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED. IF YOU LEAVE THE SAFETY OF BEING
INDOORS, YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR LIFE AT RISK.

HARDEST HIT AREAS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY ARE IN THE TELFORD AND 
LIMESTONE AREAS EXTENDING TO THE NOLICHUCKY RIVER. MANY ROAD 
CLOSURES HAVE BEEN REPORTED INCLUDING.
CLARKS CREEK...FRANK STANTON...CORBY BRIDGE...LITTLE CASSI CREEK
...YANKEE CAMP....PAINTER CREEK...BEARFIELD...AND UPPER AND LOWER END
OF CASSI RD.

NUMEROUS ROAD CLOSURES HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN THE DAVE CROCKETT LAKE
AREA OF GREENE COUNTY. TRAVEL AROUND THE SOUTHEAST PART OF THE 
COUNTY...ANYWHERE NEAR THE NOLICHUCKY RIVER SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS 
DANGEROUS DUE THE POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL RISES IN WATER 
LEVELS...DESPITE THE LACK OF LOCAL RAINFALL.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT CROSS BRIDGES,
DIPS, OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A
FLOWING STREAM, EVEN A SMALL ONE, ON FOOT. IMMEDIATELY MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND TO ESCAPE RISING WATER.
