THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEDFORD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN LAKE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF LAKEVIEW

* UNTIL 700 PM PDT

* AT 358 PM PDT...FLOODING ALONG HIGHWAY 140 EAST OF LAKEVIEW WAS
  REPORTED BY THE LAKEVIEW POLICE DEPARTMENT. SEVERAL MUDSLIDES WERE 
  ALSO REPORTED...ONE AT MILE POST 22...AND ANOTHER AT MILE POST 
  23.2. THE LARGEST SLIDE CONTAINED ROCKS AND MUD AND WAS LOCATED AT 
  MILE POST 25.1.

* OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE VALLEY FALLS...PAISLEY AND
  ADEL.

AT 400 PM PDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS SCATTERED FROM 
JUST EAST OF SUMMER LAKE SOUTHWARD ACROSS LAKE COUNTY. THE HEAVIEST 
RADAR ESTIMATED RAINFALL TOTALS HAVE OCCURRED IN THE VICINITY OF 
ADEL WHERE UPWARDS OF 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS BEEN INDICATED. 
ACCUMULATING SMALL HAIL WAS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
