THE MIDLAND-ODESSA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SCURRY COUNTY IN TEXAS

* UNTIL 1030 PM CDT

* AT 724 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF SCURRY
  COUNTY...ESPECIALLY IN AREAS NORTH AND NORTHWEST OF SNYDER.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED BY THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING INCLUDE...   
  SNYDER...RANDALLS CORNER...FLUVANNA...AND DERMOTT.

THE AREA OF GREATEST CONCERN AT THIS HOUR IS NORTHERN SCURRY 
COUNTY...WHERE RADAR IS ESTIMATING THAT 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
FALLEN BETWEEN 630 TO 730 PM.  MUCH OF THIS RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE 
DEEP CREEK BASIN...AND THIS WATER WILL MAKE ITS WAY THROUGH SNYDER
AND EVENTUALLY DUNN.  SEVERAL FEET OF WATER COULD POTENTIALLY 
MAKE ITS WAY DOWN DEEP CREEK.  

AREA ROADWAYS...LOW SPOTS...AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS WILL ALSO 
EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING.  DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS 
WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO 
GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR5 CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING
WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
