THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN WARREN COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  WESTERN HINDS COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  EASTERN CLAIBORNE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI
  WESTERN COPIAH COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI

* UNTIL 200 PM CDT

* AT 1100 AM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN AREA 
OF HEAVY RAIN OVER EASTERN PORTIONS OF WARREN AND CLAIBORNE 
COUNTIES...AND WESTERN PORTIONS OF HINDS AND COPIAH COUNTIES. THE 
RAIN AREA WAS DRIFTING TO THE WEST. RAINFALL OF 4 TO 8 INCHES HAS 
ALREADY OCCURRED WITH SEVERAL BRIDGES WASHED OUT AND MANY ROADS 
CLOSED. SEVERAL HOMES HAVE ALSO BEEN FLOODED. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 
UP TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR IS POSSIBLE IN THIS AREA. 

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT. IT IS
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
