THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LINCOLN HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SCHUYLER COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS

* UNTIL 900 AM CDT

* AT 225 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS 
  NOW ESTIMATING 6 TO AS MUCH AS 10 INCHES OF RAIN HAS ACCUMULATED 
  ACROSS SCHUYLER COUNTY. THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS IN THE WESTERN 
  HALF OF THE COUNTY. THE RAIN WAS FINALLY TAPERING OFF TO LIGHT RAIN.

* THE LIGHTER RAINFALL SHOULD END ACROSS THE AREA BY ABOUT 4 AM. 
  ALTHOUGH THE RAIN WILL END...THE THREAT FOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE
  AS THE WATER RUNS OFF PRODUCING RAPID RISES ON LOCAL STREAMS AND 
  CREEKS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS. THEREFORE...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING
  HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 9 AM.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT AT NIGHT TO JUDGE HOW 
MUCH WATER COVERS ROADWAYS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED 
ROADWAYS. IT ONLY TAKES A COUPLE OF FEET OF WATER TO WASH A VEHICLE 
OFF THE ROADWAY. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR WHEN VEHICLES ARE WASHED 
OFF A FLOODED ROADWAY.
