SALINE COUNTY IN CENTRAL KANSAS * UNTIL 700 AM CDT * AT 1241 AM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WERE MOVING OVER THE SAME AREAS OF SALINE COUNTY...JUST WEST OF SALINA. RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT RAINFALL RATES OF OVER AN INCH AN HOUR HAVE BEEN OCCURRING. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...ROADS AND UNDERPASSES...AS WELL AS OTHER POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT...WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED... ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
