* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHERN CHEROKEE COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL GEORGIA

* UNTIL 200 AM EDT

* AT 1230 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER BALL GROUND...OR ABOUT 10 MILES NORTHEAST OF
  CANTON...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

* OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE WALESKA

THUNDERSTORMS DUMPED HEAVY RAIN OVER NORTHERN CHEROKEE COUNTY
BETWEEN 9 PM AND 1230 AM. ACCORDING TO RADAR ESTIMATES...MORE THAN 4
INCHES FELL IN SOME AREAS FROM WEST OF CANTON TO NORTH OF BALL
GROUND...INCLUDING MUCH OF THE AREA BETWEEN WALESKA AND BALL GROUND.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS. CHEROKEE COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORT A
COUPLE OF ROADS HAVE BEEN WASHED OUT IN THE CLAYTON COMMUNITY.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING. BE ESPECIALLY
ALERT FOR WASHOUTS ON SECONDARY ROADS.
