* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  PUTNAM COUNTY IN CENTRAL GEORGIA
  GREENE COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
  HANCOCK COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
  TALIAFERRO COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
  WILKES COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA

* UNTIL 115 AM EDT

* AT 1005 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED  
VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER TALIAFERRO...SOUTHERN WILKES AND EASTERN GREENE 
COUNTIES AND MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN ELSEWHERE OVER THE WARNED COUNTIES.
EATONTON HAS REPORTED 5 INCHES OF RAIN SINCE 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON. PUBLIC
REPORTED AROUND 8.5 INCHES OF RAIN IN THE WHITE PLAINS AREA. RADAR 
IS ESTIMATING 4 TO 8 INCHES OF RAIN OVER MUCH OF THE AREA OVER THE 
PAST 24 HOURS AND RAIN IS STILL FALLING AT A RATE OF OVER 1 INCH AN 
HOUR IN MANY SPOTS. MANY ROADS ARE REPORTED TO BE UNDER WATER IN 
HANCOCK...PUTNAM AND GREENE COUNTIES. 

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER
LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
