THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SCOTLAND COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI

* UNTIL 700 AM CDT

* AT 345 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE LOCATED OVER THE
  WARNED AREA. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES THAT BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES
  OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE LAST 3 HOURS...MAINLY NORTH OF A LINE FROM
  MEMPHIS TO GRANGER. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WERE REDEVELOPING TO
  THE NORTHWEST OF SCOTLAND COUNTY. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE
  BACK INTO PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA...RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL
  HEAVY RAIN AND THE LIKELIHOOD OF FLASH FLOODING...ESPECIALLY OVER THE
  NORTHERN HALF OF SCOTLAND COUNTY.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER
LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
