MCDONOUGH COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS WARREN COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS HENDERSON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS * UNTIL 715 AM CDT * AT 120 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE LOCATED OVER THE WARNED AREA. * THUNDERSTORMS WERE CONTINUOUSLY REDEVELOPING AND MOVING OVER PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA...LEADING TO VERY HIGH RAINFALL RATES AND THE LIKELIHOOD OF FLASH FLOODING IN THE WARNED AREA. WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATES THAT 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN EAST CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST HENDERSON COUNTY...SOUTHWEST WARREN COUNTY...AND NORTHERN MCDONOUGH COUNTY OVER THE PAST 3 HOURS. THIS RAIN IS FALLING ON GROUND ALREADY SATURATED BY RAINFALL LAST EVENING. THE HEAVIEST RAINS HAVE FALLEN IN THE HONEY CREEK AND ELLISON CREEK AREAS OF HENDERSON COUNTY...IN THE SWAN CREEK AREA OF WARREN COUNTY...AND IN THE HEADWATERS OF THE LA MOINE BASIN IN MCDONOUGH COUNTY. SOME COMMUNITIES AFFECTED INCLUDE STRONGHURST...RARITAN... OLENA...AND MEDIA. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.
