THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DODGE CITY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  RUSH COUNTY IN CENTRAL KANSAS
  NESS COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL KANSAS

* A FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS EXPIRED FOR SOUTHERN TREGO COUNTY

* UNTIL 1215 AM CDT

* AT 911 PM CDT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED DITCHES           
  OVERFLOWING IN NORTHEAST NESS COUNTY WITH WATER EXPECTED TO COVER  
  HIGHWAY 4 SHORTLY EAST OF BROWNELL AND NORTWEST OF MCCRACKEN. THEY 
  ALSO INDICATE THAT THEY EXPECT THE FLOODING OF MINOR TRIBUTARIES   
  OF THE SNAKE CREEK AND BIG TIMBER CREEK IN NORHTEAST NESS COUNTY
  AND NORTHWEST RUSH COUNTY. 

* RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES APPEAR TO BE GREATER THAN 5 INCHES OF RAIN
  IN THIS AREA DURING A 4 HOUR PERIOD AND RAIN CONTINUES TO FALL.    
  THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY TORRENTIAL RAINS ARE NOW LOCATED 
  BETWEEN RANSOM AND NESS CITY AND WILL LIKELY CAUSE SOME HIGH
  WATER PROBLEMS IN THAT AREA AS WELL DURING THE NEXT FEW HOURS.    

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED INCLUDE...
  RANSOM,
  MCCRACKEN,
  BROWNELL,
  ARNOLD,

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
