THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
    RICHMOND COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA

* UNTIL 745 PM EDT.

* AT 530 PM EDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED A   
THUNDERSTORM WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OVER AUGUSTA...NEARLY STATIONARY.

THE HEAVY RAINFALL WAS CAUSING FLASH FLOODING FROM BROAD STREET TO 
LANEY WALKER BOULEVARD TO THE GORDON HIGHWAY IN THE AUGUSTA CITY LIMITS.
ALSO FLOODING WAS OCCURRING ON WHELASS ROAD AND EAST BOUNDARY ROAD.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS OR FLOOD PRONE AREAS
SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AyND UNDERPASSES
AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
