NORTHERN BROOKS COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS NORTHERN JIM HOGG COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS * UNTIL 700 PM CDT * AT 252 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL HAVE INTENSIFIED NEAR AND TO THE NORTHWEST OF FALFURRIAS AND HEBBRONVILLE. THIS HEAVY RAINFALL WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 10 MPH. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED 2 TO 4 INCHES OVER THE PAST TWO HOURS. * SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING INCLUDE...FALFURRIAS AND NEAR HEBBRONVILLE. FLOOD WATERS ARE MOVING DOWN CIBOLO CREEK AND OTHER NEARBY CREEKS THAT FLOW THROUGH FALFURRIAS AND HEBBRONVILLE. BEWARE THAT CREEKS CAN RISE RAPIDLY...AND THAT LOW WATER CROSSINGS CAN FLOOD EASILY. JIM HOGG SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT REPORTED BOTH HIGHWAYS 16 JUST NORTH OF HEBBRONVILLE...AND 359 JUST EAST OF HEBBRONVILLE WERE FLOODED AT MESQUITE CREEK. THE EMERGENCY MANAGER FROM BROOKS COUNTY ADVISES ALL CITIZENS TO STAY TUNED TO KPSO RADIO IN FALFURRIAS. IF YOU ENCOUNTER A FLOODED ROAD...TURN AROUND AND FIND AND ALTERNATE ROUTE. EHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
