THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GAYLORD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  CHEBOYGAN COUNTY IN NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN

* UNTIL 300 AM EDT

* AT 1045 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A CLUSTER
  OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL OVER EXTREME
  NORTHERN CHEBOYGAN COUNTY. INDIVIDUAL CELLS WERE WERE MOVING TO
  THE EAST AROUND 30 MPH...HOWEVER AT THE SAME MORE THUNDERSTORMS
  WERE CONTINUING TO REGENERATE FROM THE WEST.

* DOPPLER RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES AS MUCH AS 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
  FALLEN ALONG US-23 BETWEEN CHEBOYGAN AND MACKINAW CITY SINCE 7 PM.
  ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED THROUGH MIDNIGHT AS
  THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO REDEVELOP ACROSS THE REGION.

IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND QUICKLY. DO NOT
DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY...
AS THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY
VEHICLES. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
IMMEDIATELY.
