THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GAYLORD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  MACKINAC COUNTY IN EASTERN UPPER MICHIGAN

* UNTIL 830 PM EDT

* AT 508 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A          
  THUNDERSTORM WITH TORRENTIAL RAIN 3 MILES NORTHEAST OF REXTON.     
  MOVEMENT WAS NEARLY STATIONARY.

* DOPPLER RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES BETWEEN 3 AND 4 INCHES FELL
  ALONG H-40 NORTHEAST OF REXTON...NEAR THE CHIPPEWA COUNTY          
  BORDER...BETWEEN 330 PM AND 515 PM. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL       
  PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING ON AND CLOSE TO H-40 IN THIS AREA.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...ROADWAYS AND UNDERPASSES...AS WELL AS OTHER
DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
