THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TULSA HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
CARROLL COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
MADISON COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
* UNTIL 215 PM CDT
* AT 1115 AM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM BERRYVILLE TO
HUNTSVILLE TO SHORT...MOVING EAST AROUND 40 MILES AN HOUR.
DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE
ALREADY FALLEN OVER THE WARNING AREA. ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES WILL BE
POSSIBLE THROUGH 215 PM CDT.
FLOODING WAS REPORTED IN DOWNTOWN FAYETTEVILLE AROUND 11 AM...WHERE
OVER 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAD ALREADY FALLEN. THIS LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS
IS PRODUCING AN INCH OR TWO OF RAIN IN JUST A FEW MINUTES...AND
WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT CARROLL AND MADISON COUNTIES THROUGH THE
EARLY AFTERNOON. WITH SATURATED SOILS...AREAS WHICH RECEIVE
SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL WILL HAVE FLASH FLOODING PROBLEMS.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND
STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. URBAN AREAS MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE
FLOODING PROBLEMS. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLAND ALONG
THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE
SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER MAY BE TOO DEEP TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.
VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.
