THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN CHEROKEE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS

* UNTIL 1245 PM CDT

* AT 945 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED THAT 2 AND A HALF TO THREE 
INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER SOUTHERN CHEROKEE COUNTY OVER THE 
LAST THREE HOURS. LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED LOCALIZED 
FLOODING OVER LOW AREAS IN BAXTER SPRINGS.

* THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER THE AREA...PRODUCING AN 
ADDITIONAL ONE TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN THROUGH THE MORNING. RUNOFF 
FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL LIKELY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO 
OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING 
INCLUDE...BAXTER SPRINGS...GALENA...MELROSE AND TREECE.
