THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  JOHNSTON COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA
  WAKE COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 930 PM EDT

* AT 720 PM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED  
  AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN 
  MOVING INTO SOUTHERN WAKE AND NORTHWESTERN JOHNSTON COUNTIES. 
  AMATEUR RADIO OPERATORS HAVE REPORTED LOCALIZED FLOODING ON 
  COVERED BRIDGE ROAD AND TEN TEN ROAD. 

* THE GROUND HAS ALREADY BEEN SATURATED BY RECENT RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA...AND ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL RUNOFF AND CAUSE FLOODING.
  
  LOCATIONS AT GREATEST RISK FOR FLASH FLOODING ARE ACROSS SOUTHERN  
  AND WESTERN WAKE AND WESTERN JOHNSTON COUNTIES INCLUDING           
  CLAYTON...FUQUAY-VARINA AND THE RALEIGH METRO AREA. 

  EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF 
  SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES.
