THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHEASTERN IMPERIAL COUNTY IN SOUTHEASTERN CALIFORNIA

* UNTIL 1000 PM PDT

* BETWEEN 7 AND 750 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER
  RADAR INDICATED THAT VERY HEAVY RAIN...IN EXCESS OF 2
  INCHES...HAS FALLEN OVER AN AREA CENTERED ABOUT 7 MILES SOUTH-
  SOUTHWEST OF PALO VERDE. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN THIS AREA WAS
  MOVING VERY SLOWLY TOWARD THE SOUTH.

* RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL MOVE THROUGH WASHES AND LOW LYING
  AREAS AND AFFECT PORTIONS OF STATE ROUTE 78 FROM PALO VERDE SOUTH
  TO THE CIBOLA NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE.

DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD. IT IS ESPECIALLY
HARD TO GAUGE THE DEPTH OF WATER AT NIGHT...AND IT TAKES ONLY
MINIMAL FLOW TO LIFT A CAR OFF THE ROAD.
