NEW HAVEN...MIDDLESEX...AND NEW LONDON COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT...AND SUFFOLK COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK... * UNTIL 400 AM EDT... * AT 1130 PM EDT FLASH FLOODING WAS OCCURRING IN THE WARNED AREA. * THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO REDEVELOP OVER THE WARNED AREA... RESULTING IN EXCESSIVE RAINFALL. IN NEW HAVEN COUNTY...NUMEROUS SMALL STREAMS HAVE OVERFLOWED THEIR BANKS. THE QUINNIPIAC RIVER IN WALLINGFORD HAS SHOWED A RAPID RISE AND IS THREATENING TO OVERFLOW ITS BANKS. IN WESTERN SUFFOLK COUNTY FOUR TO SEVEN INCHES OF RAIN HAS CAUSED WIDESPREAD URBAN FLOODING.
