THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN NEWPORT HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ONSLOW COUNTY IN EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 230 PM EDT

* NUMEROUS HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DROPPED UP TO 3 TO 4 
  INCHES OF RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF EASTERN ONSLOW COUNTY. MORE HEAVY    
  RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO FALL ACROSS THE ENTIRE COUNTY THROUGH MID    
  AFTERNOON...AS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVE NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.
  AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT
  SEVERAL HOURS.

* FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED IN AND AROUND
   SNEADS FERRY.
   SWANSBORO.
   CAMP LEJEUNE.
   JACKSONVILLE AND.
   PINEY GREEN.
  
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. 
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD BE AWARE OF RISING 
WATER. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
