THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN NEWPORT HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTH CENTRAL CRAVEN COUNTY IN EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 1100 PM EDT

* AT 845 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER NORTH CENTRAL CRAVEN COUNTY...MOVING NORTH
  AT 20 MPH.

OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS 4 TO 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER NORTHERN
CRAVEN COUNTY NEAR VANCEBORO. ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL CAUSE
FURTHER FLOODING. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS HAVE REPORTED 
FLOODING ALONG HIGHWAYS 17 AND 43...ESPECIALLY ON THE EAST
SIDE OF VANCEBORO. 

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY
AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS, ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK
HIGHER GROUND.

PLEASE REPORT FLOODING TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR
