THE MIDLAND-ODESSA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHERN EDDY COUNTY IN NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 615 PM MDT

* AT 330 PM MDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED A
  THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN 14 MILES WEST OF ARTESIA...JUST
  NORTH OF THE COMMUNITY OF HOPE...MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED BY THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING INCLUDE...
  AREAS DOWNSTREAM ON EAGLE CREEK FROM HOPE...AREAS ALONG COTTONWOOD
  CANYON CREEK NORTH OF HOPE AND THEN DOWNSTREAM...AND AREAS ALONG
  UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 82 BETWEEN HOPE AND ARTESIA TO THE
  INTERSECTION WITH UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 285.

THUNDERSTORMS HAVE CONTINUED TO REDEVELOP JUST NORTH OF THE 
COMMUNITY OF HOPE.  THIS HAS PRODUCED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL...AND 
COULD RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING ALONG EAGLE AND COTTONWOOD 
CREEKS...IN NORTHERN EDDY COUNTY.  

THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION!

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT
