NORTHWESTERN DAWSON COUNTY IN TEXAS * UNTIL 915 PM CDT * AT 615 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER NORTHWEST DAWSON COUNTY...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. * SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED BY THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING INCLUDE... PRIDE AND WELCH...AND THE SULPHUR SPRINGS DRAW. STORMS THAT MOVED OVER NORTHWEST DAWSON COUNTY PRODUCED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL BETWEEN 5 AND 6 PM. LATEST RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT UP TO 2-3 INCHES OF RAIN MAY HAVE FALLEN IN SOME AREAS DURING THE PAST HOUR. THIS RAIN WILL FLOOD AREA ROADS AND NORMALLY DRY CREEKS AND DRAWS. ONE OF THE LARGER DRAWS IN THIS AREA IS THE SULPHUR SPRINGS DRAW. THIS DRAW IS LOCATED WEST AND SOUTHWEST OF WELCH AND IT WILL LIKELY FILL WITH WATER RATHER QUICKLY. THIS WILL LIKELY FLOOD SEVERAL LOW WATER CROSSINGS THAT CROSS THE DRAW. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO A FLOODED STRETCH OF ROAD. THE DEPTH OF WATER MAY BE ENOUGH TO FLOAT YOUR VEHICLE.
