JOHNSON IN FLEMING COUNTY...UNDER WATER. ALSO MUD AND ROCK SLIDES
HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN ROWAN...MORGAN AND BREATHITT COUNTIES.
SEVERAL STREAMS AND PONDS IN SOUTHERN LAUREL COUNTY HAVE EXCEEDED
THEIR BANKS. ANOTHER REPORT FROM WOLFE COUNTY ABOUT 6 MILES SOUTH OF
CAMPTON HAS THE RIGHT FORK OUT OF ITS BANKS.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF CREEKS
AND STREAMS...ROADS AND ROADSIDE CULVERTS. THE HEAVY RAINS COULD ALSO
TRIGGER ROCK AND MUDSLIDES.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. LEAVE AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN THE WATER STARTS TO RISE.
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
