THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN BUNCOMBE COUNTY IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 915 PM EDT

* AT 808 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY  
  HEAVY RAIN BETWEEN DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE AND THE ASHEVILLE AIRPORT.  
  RADAR ESTIMATED 3 INCHES PER HOUR RAINFALL RATES IN THE SKYLAND 
  AREA.  

* STORMS ARE DRIFTING SOUTH SLOWLY BUT NEW ONES ARE FORMING TO THE 
  NORTH.  CONTINUED HEAVY RAIN WILL CERTAINLY CAUSE LOCALIZED FLOODING.
  THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST 900 PM.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER
LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS.  FLASH 
FLOODS ARE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT WHEN WATER DEPTH CANNOT BE 
ACCURATELY GAUGED.
