THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND RAPIDS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  OTTAWA COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN
  KENT COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN

* UNTIL 500 AM EDT

* AT 100 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN IN A WEST TO EAST LINE     
  FROM GRAND HAVEN TO ROCKFORD. DOPPLER RADAR INDICATES THAT AROUND  
  2 INCHES OF RAIN FELL BETWEEN 10 PM AND 1 AM ACROSS NORTHERN       
  OTTAWA COUNTY AND PORTIONS OF NORTHERN KENT COUNTY.

* AT 100 AM EDT...THE PUBLIC REPORTED ONE FOOT OF WATER OVER HIGHWAY 
  U.S. 31 IN GRAND HAVEN.

* ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED   
  OVERNIGHT. ANOTHER 1 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE BY DAYBREAK.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WA"TER BEGINS RISING.
