000 WGUS54 KEWX 110116 FFWEWX TXC123-255-110215- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 715 PM CST FRI MAR 10 2000 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN TEXAS... DEWITT COUNTY KARNES COUNTY * UNTIL 10 PM CST AT 715 PM RADAR INDICATED 1 AND 1/2 TO 2 INCH AN HOUR RAINFALL RATES CURRENTLY FALLING OVER NORTHERN KARNES AND EASTERN DEWITT COUNTIES. AN ESTIMATED 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN FROM THESE NEARLY STATIONARY STORMS DURING THE LATS COUPLE OF HOURS. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...NORMALLY DRY WASHES AND ARROYOS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
