THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PLEASANT HILL HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  DONIPHAN COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS

* UNTIL 600 AM CDT

* AT 145 AM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED...
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN FROM WHITE CLOUD TO
  HIGHLAND TO FANNING. RADAR ESTIMATES BETWEEN 3 AND 4 INCHES OF
  RAIN HAS FALLEN FROM WHITE CLOUD TO HIGHLAND SINCE 11 PM. THE SHERIFFS
  OFFICE REPORTED WATER OVER SOME STREETS IN HIGHLAND. THE STORMS
  ARE MOVING VERY SLOWLY TO THE EAST WITH ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS
  OVER BROWN COUNTY MOVING EAST AND INTO DONIPHAN COUNTY.

* ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO RAPID RISES...AND THE THREAT
  OF FLASH FLOODING...ON THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND CREEKS

SOME CITIES AND TOWNS AFFECTED BY THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING INCLUDE
WHITE CLOUD...SPARKS...SEVERANCE...HIGHLAND...FANNING AND DENTON.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
