* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  JOHNSON COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS
  LEAVENWORTH COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS
  WYANDOTTE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS
  CLAY COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI
  JACKSON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI
  PLATTE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI

* AT 404 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED...TWO
  AREAS OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WHICH
  WILL AFFECT THE GREATER KANSAS CITY AREA THROUGH EARLY EVENING.
  DOPPLER RADAR ESITMATES RAINFALL RATES BETWEEN 1 AND 2 INCHES PER
  HOUR WITH THE STRONGER STORMS. INDIVIDUAL STORMS ARE MOVING TO THE
  NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH WHILE THE ENTIRE AREA MOVES TO THE EAST AT
  15 MPH.

  TOTAL RAINFALL THIS EVENING COULD REACH BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES BEFORE
  IT ENDS.

* ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO RAPID RISES...AND THE THREAT
  OF FLASH FLOODING...ON THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND CREEKS

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES.
ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF
CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH
FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
