THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
JO DAVIESS COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS
CARROLL COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS
* UNTIL 715 AM CDT
* AT 107 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
HEAVY RAIN WAS FALLING OVER PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA. ADDITIONAL
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL MOVE IN FROM THE NORTHWEST
IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.
* THUNDERSTORMS WERE CONTINUOUSLY REDEVELOPING AND MOVING OVER
PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA...LEADING TO VERY HIGH RAINFALL
RATES AND THE LIKELIHOOD OF FLASH FLOODING IN THE PORTIONS OF THE WARNED AREA.
DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES THAT 2 TO 3 INCHES OF RAINFALL SOUTHWEST JO DAVIESS
AND NORTHWEST CARROLL COUNTY IN THE LAST 2 HOURS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL RATES
OF 1 INCH PER HOUR COULD CAUSE SOME LOCATIONS TO SEE 3 TO 4 INCHES
OF RAINFALL BEFORE THE RAIN COMES TO AN END.

DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
