NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE QUAD CITIES IA IL
1124 PM CDT TUE JUN 13 2000

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SCOTT COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL IOWA
  ROCK ISLAND COUNTY IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS

* UNTIL 330 AM CDT

* AT 1124 PM CDT...HEAVY RAIN WAS FALLING ACROSS SCOTT AND ROCK
  ISLAND COUNTIES WITH ADDITIONAL MODERATE RAIN APPROACHING FROM THE
  WEST. THE GROUND IS SATURATED AND STREAMS WERE RUNNING HIGH BEFORE
  THE RAIN BEGAN FALLING. THUS...ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL AGGRAVATE THIS
  SITUATION.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BEx TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
