THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WAYNE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN
  LENAWEE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN

* UNTIL 900 PM EDT

* AT 555 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS
  PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL FROM 7 MILES EAST OF ROMULUS TO 17   
  MILES SOUTHWEST OF ADRIAN...MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH.  DOPPLER RADAR
  SHOWED NEARLY 3 INCHES OF RAIN LIKELY HAVE OCCURRED SINCE 3 PM NEAR
  WESTLAND IN WAYNE COUNTY...AS WELL AS NEAR MANITOU BEACH IN LENAWEE
  COUNTY.  

* HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER LENAWEE COUNTY THROUGH 7 PM...WITH
  ANOTHER INCH OR TWO OF RAIN POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY ALONG AND NEAR 
  U S 223.  IN WAYNE COUNTY...PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL PERSIST
  THROUGH 8 PM...AFFECTING AREAS FROM DETROIT THROUGH THE WEST AND
  SOUTHERN SUBURBS.  OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED BETWEEN
  6 PM AND 8 PM NEAR DETROIT AND IN DOWNRIVER COMMUNITIES.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
