THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN COLUMBIA HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN RICHMOND COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA

* UNTIL 100 AM EDT FRIDAY.

* AT 855 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED 4 
TO AS MUCH AS 8 INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF 
RICHMOND COUNTY BETWEEN 500 PM AND 855 PM. THE MAIN AREAS AFFECTED 
CONTINUED TO BE FROM FT GORDON EAST TO NEAR HEPHZIBAH TO MCBEAN AND 
MECHANIC HILL. THUNDERSTORMS IN THAT AREA SHOULD END AROUND 10 PM. 
REPORTS OF 2 FEET OF WATER ON HIGHWAY US 25 BETWEEN HEPHZIBAH AND 
MCBEAN HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.

RUNOFF AND STANDING WATER WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE FLOODING THROUGH 
100 AM.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. 
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. 
RESIDENTS IN LOW LYING FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE ALERT FOR 
FLOODING...AND PREPARE TO SEEK HIGHER GROUND IF NECESSARY. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.

REPORT ANY HAIL...DAMAGING WINDS OR FLOODING TO YOUR COUNTY SHERIFF 
OR TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE IN COLUMBIA.
