THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HERKIMER COUNTY IN EASTERN NEW YORK

* UNTIL 1145 PM EDT

* AT 900 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO PASS OVER CENTRAL
HERKIMER COUNTY.  RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE UP TO THREE INCHES OF
RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE RUSSIA...OHIO AND GRAY AREA. SPOTTER REPORTS
ALSO INDICATE THAT SOME MINOR FLOODING HAS ALREADY BEGUN ALONG
ROADWAYS IN RUSSIA.

ADDITIONAL HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE
REGION THROUGH 1030 PM...AND COULD PRODUCE ANOTHER INCH OR TWO OF
RAIN.

RAIN HEAVY ENOUGH TO CAUSE FLASH FLOODING HAS ALSO OCCURRED AS FAR
NORTH AS HINCKLEY RESERVOIR AND WILMURT...IN THE POLLAND...NORWAY
AND BULL HILL AREAS...AND WILL ALSO OCCUR AS FAR SOUTH AS NEWPORT.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY
AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS, ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK
HIGHER GROUND.
